Assembly

 We like going to Assembly on Fridays.

We celebrate a lot of things, sing songs, do Jump Jam and we have guests. Today we had someone tell us about Drama. He asked three people up on stage.

Mr Henderson was one of them. 

 It was a lot of fun.

Visiting Harold - Learning about empathy

Harold is a giraffe which lives in a van. Every two years he visits our school and teaching us about something. This year we are learning about empathy.

We have just had our first visit. We learned about the brain. 

Did you know that the front of your brain is the part that makes decisions?

We also found out that in the centre of our spine we carry messages through our body. It signals so we know what to do. 

Explore Time

Term 2. 2017.

Akeake Explore Time has got off to a great start in Term 2.   

One of our groups got creative with rocks, and made their very own pet Ladybug. 

Another lucky group got to have some Pony time.  This group got to spend time learning how to look after the ponies, grooming the ponies and taking them through an obstacle course.  The children had a great time interacting with the ponies and we are very much looking forward to seeing them again next week.

KNS Cross Country Place Getters

11 April 2017

Kaiapoi North School had our Cross Country on 11 April in lovely running conditions. 

All students ran really well and tried their best. 

Welcome Miss Cosgrove!

Miss Cosgrove is our new teacher in Room 7 and this was her first week at Kaiapoi North School. 
We learnt that her favourite colour is green and her favourite food is pizza. She has taught us about minibeasts and life cycles this week.
