Time, Continuity, Change

 Time, Continuity, Change

The children had a great time looking at some olden day items that Whaea Nicole brought into school.

They had to write on 'post-it' notes:
  1. What they could see
  2. What that thought it was
  3. What they wondered about the item

Every Wednesday afternoon Kōpapa East go to the library.

We listen to two buddies read.
Raymond read a book about Thor
and Jessica read a book that was counting down reindeer.

Then it is time for us to return books and issue new ones.
Elisa scanned the books back in.
She needed to scan quite a few returns.

Then Dom could start issuing new books.
First he had to scan the person's name,
then scan the barcode.

Have you been to the library?

Cross Country

Friday was a fabulous day for the Cross Country. We were so proud of all the children who participated and did their best. Thanks to all the families who came and cheered the children on.

Today we had our first Explore Time in Akeake.
Rooms 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 all got together and watched a video about using kind hands.  After that we got to choose from lots
of different options of fun things we could do for the afternoon.
We got to choose from art activities, building activities, outside fun, role playing with barbies and potato heads
and some of us chose to earn how to play chess!
We had such a fun afternoon learning and playing with different friends from across our whole team.

If any Akeake parents would like to come and share an activity with a group of children during our Explore Time on a Friday afternoon - we would
LOVE to have you!  Please contact your child's teacher if you would like to participate and come and have some fun with us.

Term 2 !!

Kōpapa East is ready for a very busy term 2.

There are so many things to look forward to this term and MainPower Sports is the first one.
Every fortnight, on a Thursday, two coaches teach us skills that will help us with different sports. This week we learnt how to dribble.

If you are free in the morning
we would love for you to pop by and support our learners with maths.
